One time Woodies Colt Nic Dolly has been picked to play in one of the season's biggest games - the Barbarians v World 15 otherwise known as Eddie Jones (Barbarians) v Steve Hansen (World XV).
Nic played Colts for the Woods back in 2016 and as the Sydney Morning Herald recorded last year
"Dolly was coached by Eastwood club great John Manenti, now coaching the Australian men’s sevens team, who was a fan and mentor from early on. Back then, the Kenthurst-raised Marian Catholic College student sported a regulation crew cut.
“I had to push to get him eligible to play Colts as he was underage and needed dispensation,” Manenti said. “He was small then but was tough as. We discussed his going overseas as a learning opportunity, never could we have imagined what might end up happening. He’s an Eastwood junior and colt and we’re incredibly proud of him.”
Nic's now a fully capped English International. In Sunday's game, the two squads are packed with world-class talent, with internationals from England, Wales, South Africa, New Zealand, Argentina, Australia, Tonga, Japan, Scotland, Fiji and Italy all involved for the blockbuster clash
The sides contain a total of 1,286 international caps between them – with 650 for the Barbarians and 636 for the World XV – as well as Rugby World Cup winners, British & Irish Lions tourists, and several returning Barbarians.
Keep an eye out for Nic in this game - live on STAN Sun, 28 May 10:52pm
Kick off 11:00pm
and to top it all off - coach John Manenti is in London after the Aussie 7s great tournament last weekend and has caught up with Nic.
