In these very unusual times, footy is probably down the list for many people, but as things start to return to “normal” there is a light at the end of the tunnel for a return to playing Rugby
Sydney Rugby is of course following the lead of the various Government bodies, and in line with the relevant advice has announced a schedule for return to play. Its important to note that this schedule is entirely dependent on Government sanctions being lifted so at this stage the schedule is not confirmed
The key date is a tentative start of the competition on July 18, with 1 round culminating in a finals series at the end of October
For this season, Sydney Rugby has invited Penrith and Newcastle to enter teams into the revised Shute Shield competition . Participation by these 2 expansion clubs will be dependant on them meeting certain criteria to ensure that they are competitive

Thats the good news; on the not so good news side, it appears likely that, at this stage, there will be no crowds allowed during the early part of this competition and potentially for the entire competition. We are also uncertain how many teams from each Club will be playing; that’s all still be confirmed
Our first grade squad and Colts 1 teams have returned to training, following the strict protocols laid out for us and that is going well. Lets hope we can see the players out on the park soon
