RIP Robert William Moin: cap no. 105

Greg Moin has let us know of the passing of his father:

"I wanted to let you know of the passing of my father Robert William Moin (1933 to 2024).

He left school where he played in the first xv for Homebush Boys High School and CHS firsts and went straight into the first xv for Eastwood.    Dad played first grade for Eastwood from 1952 to 1957 inclusive as a prop being Eastwood Cap no. 105.   He then coached the second xv I think for a year before family commitments and injury saw his days as a player and coach come to an end.   He was selected to play for NSW Colts.   He reckoned he along with his fellow front rowers held the record (he would say world record) for the longest streak of winning scrum counts.

He loved the Club and watched many many games at TG Millner and other venues.   Indeed one of my earliest memories is being on a rug with my brother as a 3 year old close to the fence on the club house side watching Eastwood play at TG Millner and then Dad lifting me over the fence at the end of the game so I could kick the ball on the field with him until almost everyone had left."

*****************

Bob Moin played 105 games for the Club, the great majority in 1st grade. in 1960 after he had finished playing and coaching he served as the Club Secretary.
